Trade finance
Trade finance, also known as transactional finance, provides funding for companies to pay suppliers for the purchase of finished goods, normally against firm customer order or where there is a proven demand for the product.
Trade finance usually co-exists alongside other forms of finance within the business.
Trade finance or import finance can take a variety of forms from purchase finance, through letters of credit, to schemes funding the VAT element of exports.
Facilities are available to help fund the following:
- Trade Finance for the import of finished goods
- Purchase finance to fund the purchase of finished goods against firm customer orders
- Purchase finance to fund the purchase of raw materials to use in the manufacturing process
- Export VAT finance to fund the recoverable VAT element of export sales.

Paul Connell has arranged asset finance for this company, totalling approximately £250,000. He has introduced us to new sources of funding at competitive terms and rates of interest and I have been delighted with his level of service and professionalism.
T.L. Wenman, Director, Metano
As my business has grown they have continued to help with financing which enabled me to not only acquire the office but also refurbish it to a high standard. They introduced me to the benefits of invoice discounting and answered all my questions and those of my accountant thoroughly. I cannot recommend them highly enough and would encourage any company requiring business finance to use them.
